I love this shoot! I actually had the wig pictured above (see pic below) and used to put it on my mannequin “Bean” when selling vintage clothing. Also….my neighbor in South Beach was this really fabulous gay guy that would come over with his friends after clubbing and play dress up in all of my bright colored wigs. Now that was a fun use of the wigs!
*You can still pick this wig up on Ebay for like $20 or $30 bucks. Just search “green wig” and you’ll see quite a few.
Anyway, the super bright neon colors are always great in my book, and model Anna De Rijk pulls it off flawlessly! I think you have to be pretty adventurous though if your going to wear neon. You don’t want to end up looking like a giant piece of fruit! Best to start off with a scarf or a pair of neon stilettos if you’re not sure. 🙂
Hope everyone has a super sexy weekend!
Love All Around, Cara Mia ♥

When I saw this shoot I think I jolted upright in my chair and proceed to swirl around the room! My dogs tend to freak out when I do that and join in the excitement.
Anyway, the photos are from October Criativa and I love them! Colorful and psychedelic, with a total modern day hippie vibe! Kind of looks like they could be on their way to Burning Man or a desert rave.
So in other news….I’m totally sold out of vintage in the Future Hippie Shop. (*yippie!!!*)I probably won’t be restocking it but I will definitely keep blogging.
Speaking of which, I’ve been blogging for quite some time now and have gotten awesome comments and emails, and the opportunity to meet some really great people. I always strive to post things you guys will enjoy, which is why I would love to hear your feedback.
I’ve been working on some new ideas for the Future Hippie Blog and was wondering what would you guys like to see more of?
It has been statistically proven that people are drawn to brighter colors when they are feeling loving and hopeful. This is especially true in fashion! That’s not to say you can’t be totally happy whilst rockin’ your little black dress, but overall, adding a little color to your wardrobe or even hair can totally brighten your mood.
Speaking of that, what do you guys think of the multi color hair trend?
A. Love it! I’m going to streak it 8 different colors this weekend!
B. Eh, it’s cool but my parents or boss might go into a meltdown.
One of the greatest ways to express yourself is through makeup! There’s nothing like a fierce smokey eye or dramatic lime green eyeshadow to get heads to turn. Just ask any M.A.C. artist, drag queen or diva and they will tell you it’s all about being BOLD!
Valentino seems to think the future is bright, as you can see in the next pic of his haute couture spring 2010 runway show. So what do you think? Do you think the future of makeup is show stopping neon colors? Or do you think it’s all going minimal?
When I came across the work of Nikki Farquharson I was captivated! Nikki is a 24 year old freelance designer based in London who has already landed design gigs with companies like Fuji Film and Nike. I’m enjoying these pics in particular because shes seems to magically blend fashion and art, two things I love! Kind of a trippy modern psychedelic feel, don’t ya think?
Nikki also runs a website called Random Got Beautiful, where users can upload photos into color sets, definitely worth a visit!
Happy Friday everybody! This weeks featured photo shoot is the collaborative effort of Vanda Noronha and Sara Marques de Oliveira, both from Portugal. It is called Arrête Mon Coeur and it is simply delicious!

If you have been reading the Future Hippie blog for awhile now, you will probably surmise that I am in love with neon! Now that the statement jewelry collection for Hippie Couture is up, I decided to focus on bringing Future Hippie into the…..um……future! 🙂 The shop has a new look and the focus is bright colored, psychedelic and neon vintage, from the 60’s through the 90’s.
Above is a picture of an Etsy treasury…..one of the new Future Hippie pieces has already been featured! Thanks Rachel for your awesome treasury!

Sasha Pivovarova is one of my all time favorite models. When I saw this shoot from Elle I jumped out of my chair and did a little happy dance! She looks fierce as always, but what I love about this shoot is that it is part doll, part futuristic, and totally colorful. The Miu Miu platforms are ga…ga…ga…gorgeous, and Sasha pulls off every outfit flawlessly!
Below are the pics and a fun video of Sasha clips. If you subscribe by email and cannot see the video, go directly to Future Hippie.
It’s that time of week….Future Friday! This weeks featured photographer is Guillaume Kayacanlocated inBrussels, Belgium and these fabulous photos are from his “Replay” series. Kind of looks like a next generation rave if you ask me……which of course makes me want to bust out a set of glowsticks and party like it’s 1993!
